One of two 2008 desk calendars from P.K. Productions featuring twelve images of the late Emanuele Luzzati's spectacular shipboard artworks in a variety of media from ceramics to silver leaf, hammered metal and glass fiber. All of these items were rescued from the celebrated cruise ships STELLA SOLARIS, STELLA OCEANIS, and VICTORIA when they met their ends at the shipbreaking yards of Alang, India.

The calendar measures 8.25 by 4 inches and is printed on high quality glossy card stock.

Many consider the silver leaf painting "Chariots" to be one of the most spectacular Luzzati works ever created. February's image is a close up of one of the fierce charioteers waging battle in an undersea panorama lit by the golden hue of the sun. Photo and copyright Peter Knego 2007.

June features one of the two "Sun" panels originally located in the Riviera Ballroom of Incres Line's MV VICTORIA of 1959 (ex DUNNOTTAR CASTLE -- 1936). Maestro "LeLe" Luzzati was born in Genoa in 1921 and went on to study at L'Ecôle Des Belles Artes in Lausanne, Switzerland, obtaining his diploma in 1944.  His ceramics, paintings, sculpture, children's book illustrations, stage scenic and costume designs and even animated film features (his collaborations with Guilio Gianni received two Oscar nominations) would earn acclaim and distinguished awards over the next seven decades.  He was among a pantheon of artists whose work would be displayed on the Italian ships of state.  He created ceramic panels, paintings, tapestries, and sculpture for the most famous designers of the day, including Gio Ponti, Gustavo Pulitzer-Finale and Nino Zoncada for a wide variety of ships, such as: CONTE BIANCAMANO, CONTE GRANDE, ANDREA DORIA, FEDERICO C, HOMERIC (Home Lines), GRIPSHOLM (1957), VICTORIA (Incres), EUGENIO C, OCEANIC (Home Lines), LEONARDO DA VINCI, STELLA OCEANIS, AUSONIA (Adriatica), STELLA SOLARIS, and others.  Mr. Luzzati remained in Genoa, where there is a gallery and museum dedicated to his works at Porto Antico, until his death in January of 2007.
