I bought all the light fixtures I could find on ANASTASIS (ex Lloyd Triestino VICTORIA -- designed by Gio Ponti's rival, Gustavo Pulitzer-Finale) when she was at Alang.
This one was with a handful of others on the inboard mirrored bulkhead of the First Class Dining Room. I sold the lot of these to a dealer before I had a chance to post them to the site. They are spectacular, vintage 1953 Italian with a hexagonal aluminum frame and a brass overlay with countles small "peep" holes to shine light outwards in small rays. Absurdly elegant.
When I returned to Alang in 2008, I found this in my agent's office. It somehow did not get packed in the container with all the other ANASTASIS/VICTORIA items, so I am offering it "solo".
Details of the overlay. All photos by and copyright Peter Knego 2008.
The condition is very good, although new paint will be required on the outer frame and the brass on the overlay has a couple scuffs that could be easily amended with a fresh dipping or a touch up with rustoleum and a fine paint brush. Priced accordingly.
Pulitzer, the ship's designer, used Arte Luce in general to fit out his projects but I cannot confirm these are actual Arte Luce. However, they are in the same style and very similar to fixtures on the former AUGUSTUS.
